Payment rails with a dashboard ops teams open
Bastion Pay moves money between marketplaces, sellers and banks. Tensile built its operations dashboard and the design system behind it, on top of an API that processes millions of payouts a month.
Challenge
Bastion's ops team worked in raw database views. Every failed payout meant a ticket to engineering, and engineers spent a day a week on lookups.
Approach
We mapped the twelve questions ops asked most often and built a screen for each, on a design system with strict rules for money: one way to show an amount, one way to show a status, one way to show who did what and when.
Outcome
Payout lookups no longer reach engineering. The design system now powers the customer dashboard too, and new screens take days instead of weeks.
